GoPro Max

In order to find out some simple information regarding the GoPro Max, I would like to divide this section into some main questions.

Who is GoPro?

GoPro is a very famous brand that deals with action cameras and those cameras are the most famous ones worldwide. The brand was founded in 2002.

When was GoPro Max released?

The GoPro Max action camera was released by the GoPro brand on October 15, 2019.

Is GoPro Max worth buying?

In my opinion, GoPro Max is definitely worth buying because it is one of the most practical 360 cameras that you can find since 2019 until now.

Insta360 One X2

Just as in GoPro Max, there are some things that should be known about the Insta360 One X2. Here are the same questions.

Who is Insta360?

Insta360 is another amazing and very famous brand that again deals with action cameras. It is a fact that dealing with them means bringing out the best of them!

When was Insta360 One X2 released?

Differing from GoPro Max, the Insta360 One X2 is one year younger because it was released on October 27, 2020.

Is Insta360 One X2 worth buying?

Based on some great features that the Insta360 One X2 camera owns, it is worth buying. Insta360 says that this camera is one of those that lets you unlock possibilities and we stand it!

GoPro Max vs Insta360 One X2

Now the time has come to see in more detail what is going on with these two cameras. I will basically answer the questions that I mentioned at the beginning of this article! Let’s see!

Build Quality/Design

Both GoPro Max and Insta360 One X2 are very well-built cameras and most importantly they are super durable. Both of them are waterproof and can be used underwater. Anyways, there is a difference that is worth mentioning. GoPro Max can go underwater for about 16 feet, meanwhile, the Insta360 One X2 can go up to 33 feet. They both can withstand any weather condition; they can be used at any temperature.

Action cameras are small ones and these two are some of those. However, the exact measurements are important as well. GoPro Max measures 2.52 x 0.98 x 2.72 inches and weighs 5.4 ounces, and Insta360 One X2 measures ‎4.45 x 1.82 x 1.17 inches and weighs ‎4.9 ounces.

Picture Quality

Action cameras are not “the best” when it comes to capturing pictures, but still, it is surprising in a good way how great they do the job. The GoPro Max is able to capture photos with 16.6MP and it also owns a specific mode which is called Hero. The Hero Mode captures pictures in a lower resolution, that of 5.5MP.

When it comes to Insta360 One X2, it can capture pictures with a resolution of 18.4MP. In it, you can also use a specific mode which is called InstaPano, and on this one too the resolution is lowered to 6MP.

All in all, both these cameras capture great 360 degrees of pictures, and are two of my favorite 360 cameras for real estate.

Video Quality

Now here is the most important part of these two 360 cameras: the video quality! That is basically the main reason why a person chooses to use an action camera, because of their amazing videos.

When recording with a GoPro Max camera, you can shoot 5.6K videos that are brought with amazing clarity and perfect color accuracy. It also allows you to live stream at 1080p. While using the Insta360 One X2, the video recordings go a bit deeper. You can shoot 5.7K, 4K, and also 3K. All of the recording modes in Insta360 One X2 are perfect!

What deserves to be mentioned in the video part is the image stabilization feature. Both of these cameras own an image stabilization within, and on GoPro Max works the Max HyperSmooth, meanwhile, in Insta360 One X2 it is the FlowState Stabilization which does a great job.

These two stabilizers are the best ones that can be found in action cameras.

Battery Life

The battery life is a very important feature that photographers and not only them give super huge importance. In fact, that is just how it is supposed to be! Both of the cameras use Lithium-Ion batteries but still, there is a difference. GoPro Max uses a 1600 mAh battery while the Insta360 One X2 uses a 1630 mAh battery.

That slight difference in the battery type makes these two cameras have a very small difference in the battery life. A GoPro Max camera can stay with you to record about 85 minutes and the Insta360 One X2 can last for about 80 minutes.

Final Words

Here we came at the end of this article! I tried to mention the most important things because these two cameras have many things within that you can never stop talking about.

In general, as you can notice, both GoPro Max and Insta360 One X2 are great cameras and they do have some similarities and some main differences. Is one better than the other? Not really, these two cameras are indeed one of a kind in their own manners!

Before closing it all, I would like to mention that I also have written an article in which I compared the GoPro Max and GoPro Hero10. Don’t forget to check this one out – GoPro Max vs GoPro Hero10
